I emailed Gucci not long ago and asked if there was a difference. Their reply was they have three current color discos: black, red and rose beige. I was trying to decide between the Rose beige or black as well, I ended up getting the black because I pretty much wear 90% black. The Rose beige is still calling me although I haven't seen it in person yet. I may very well end up getting both. I just purchased the rose beige color after seeing forum buzz about this bag being discontinued. I have wanted it forever, so I finally used that as my excuse to buy. I think the silhouette is classic, as others have said, and it's not overly done. No flashy hardware and seems to be dressed up or down easily. I own the Gucci Soho and I love it. I’m about to by another (rose beige) as soon as our malls open this week. I also own the YSL Lou camera bag and three Givenchy mini Pandoras.
